Sophie Ellis Bextor is an english singer who began her pop star career in 1997 as the leader singer of the british band The Audience. Dressed in black, playing the guitar, she plays the role of a glamour and elegant star and lead the band to the success.
As a result, two singles in the TOP 40 and an album with a more than honorable success. Because of internal tension, The Audience separate. Sophie then works as a model for a few months, but has no passion for the job.
In the end of 2000, Sophie Ellis Bextor meets the italian producer and DJ Spiller, who’s looking for a female voice for his record « Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love) ». She completely turns the song into a planetary hit. Sophie’s career takes off, and when the single « Take Me Home » reaches number 2 in the UK charts, followed by “Murder on The Dancefloor”, the british press compares her style to Victoria Adams Beckham’s and her angelic face to Audrey Hepburn’s. ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ is one of the most played song throughout Europe in 2002.
Sophie Ellis_Bextor is nominated in many ceremonies rewarding artists all around Europe (Germany, The Netherlands, France, England) and won several thanks to her promising career.
